Support

Keep the plan recoverable.

Most Design My Floor Plan data stays in your browser. Preserve your source file and project export before troubleshooting so a recoverable plan remains recoverable.

Effective and last updated July 24, 2026

Back up a project

Open the planner and choose Export. The downloaded .designmyfloorplan.json file contains the versioned scene, measurement provenance, and layout geometry. Source images are not included. The importer continues to accept older .freeroomdesigner.json and .roomform.json backups.

How to trace an unusual room

Click each room corner once while moving around the boundary, then choose Done tracing. Drag a numbered dot to refine it, double-click a wall to add a projection, or delete an extra corner. Set one known wall length if you want calibrated dimensions. The source plan never leaves this device.

A project did not restore

Check whether site data was cleared or private browsing was used. Do not clear or reset browser storage while an export may still be possible. Design My Floor Plan skips an unreadable newer project and can open the newest valid local project; restore a prior .designmyfloorplan.json, .freeroomdesigner.json, or .roomform.json export if the browser copy is gone.

Report a problem

Keep the exported project file and note the browser, device, action, visible message, and any recovery reference. Do not attach a source floor plan unless support specifically asks for it and you are authorized to share it. Email support@designmyfloorplan.com.
